About Maureen Feineman
Maureen Feineman received a BA in Earth and Planetary Science from Johns Hopkins University in 1995 and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004. She specializes in igneous and metamorphic petrology, high-temperature geochemistry, and isotope geochemistry. She has been a member of the Department of Geosciences since 2005, and Associate Head for Undergraduate Programs since 2016. She teaches Earth Materials (GEOSC 201) and the Senior Thesis writing course (GEOSC 494W), as well as Penn State World Campus courses on Volcanoes (GEOSC 30) and Rocks, Minerals, and the History of Art (ARTH/GEOSC 107N). She has led undergraduate field courses and research experiences to the Bushveld Complex in South Africa, the French Alps, the Greek island of Syros, a tour of geologic hazards in the Pacific Northwest, and the Alta contact metamorphic aureole in Utah.
