What made you choose your major?

I love the intersectionality between politics and STEM, which is why Earth Science and Policy was perfect for me. I want to study climate politics after Penn State, and this major gives me the flexibility to learn the skills I need to do so.

What student organizations and activities are you involved in?

I am the director of communications for the Schreyer LLC Globe and I am an active member of Music Service Club. I am also doing research in GIS in the Geography department.

What is one piece of advice you would give to prospective students?

It's 100 percent OK to not know what you want in your future or after Penn State. In fact, I did not even know my minor existed before Penn State, and now I am doing research in it. You will find out so many things once you get to college, so don’t worry about not having everything figured out yet.

What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in college so far?

Ask for help. Professors and LAs and TAs want to help students as much as possible. Professors want to meet up with students and help them. It is sometimes daunting, but it shows to a professor that you care and want to succeed.

What opportunities has Penn State provided for you so far?

Penn State has given me so many research opportunities, where I had to pick and choose. I love my research; it challenges me and gives me skills I will need in an internship. I also have a high leadership role within my LLC, where I plan cultural-themed events, and the Penn State resources helps me accomplish that. I also have so many resources in GEN-eds with office hours for STEM courses.
