What student organizations and activities are you involved in?
Within EMS, I’m the Vice President of Minorities in EMS, and I’ve also been involved with student council and THON. Outside EMS, I’ve been involved with Club Tennis and Dancer Relations in THON.
What is the best class you’ve taken at Penn State and why?
An upper-level elective in geoscience, Evolution of Early Earth and the solar system, is the best class I’ve taken. It was interesting to go in depth into the history of the Solar System and read the most up to-date literature on research in the field, and what is being investigated today.
What is the one Penn State activity that everyone should participate in, and why?
Everyone should participate in the concerts the Student Programming Association puts on. Often times, they bring in big artists for free and I think all Penn State students should take advantage of it!
What’s the best part about being an EMS student?
The best part about being in EMS is how connected the faculty and students are. It is accessible to get involved in academic opportunities like research or internships because the faculty want to help provide these experiences for the students.
What opportunities has Penn State provided for you so far?
The Department of Geosciences has allowed me to pursue a master’s degree by doing the 5 year integrated-undergrad program. On top of all the extracurricular activities available, Penn State has given me the opportunity to advance academically.
